FKS #86 – Infirmary
With the majority of us sick, it’s gotta be a great show, right? Have a listen. New Day Bloody Stools Mark fills in for Bryan this week, Sniper’s got a head cold, and Knee’s had mexican… again. We cover a story involving I.C.E.; Pedophiles; and the PS3 not related to video games, but eventually the show ends up there. A new bit called Spot the Fake and Tweet of the Week rounds this one out.

FKS #82 – Hand Me Down Cats
The title is an inside joke… Hi Sid E Burns! This was a great, fun show to do. We started out talking about the greatness that is the DropBox app, then delved into what we did/saw on Halloween. Then we have a mini MVD about when does it become “trophy whoring”. After that Knee talks about the dreams he’s been having, which produces some FKS greatness. I can’t wait to isolate some of those lines! Coming in a tad shy of 2 hours, it’s worth it, trust us.

Well, once again we DID have a set of show notes for this one, and once again we got to #1 and went off in a totally different direction, but the flow was too great to stop, we did eventually, though, in a little over an hour. We started with Sniper and Knee’s review of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Then we started delving into how video games are becoming better than movies, without really mentioning it. We did come to a single conclusion though, and we’re going to make you listen for it.

Inspired by an ARS Technica article. An FKS Massive Videogame Discussion about what makes you quit certain games? Whether it be bad checkpoint placement, bad game design, glitches, difficulty, cheating AI, etc…
Matt has the week off, so Knee, Bryan, Sniper, and Mark are in on this discussion. Later on we also discuss the video game body count, as compared to other things, ie. religion that don’t get called for a ban but video games do. We’re still trying to figure out if falling vending machines have killed more people than the media blames video games for. To wrap up we take a look at upcoming titles we’re looking forward to.

Wow, what can I say about our first show in 2 weeks… Still doing the show via Ubuntu Linux. (17 days, 10 hours, 7 minutes at the time of this writing). I talk about my trip to Maine, and coming back with 20 lbs of candy. We briefly cover UFC 97, then a partial review of the forthcoming UFC Undisputed 2009 based on the demo, so it’s not a full review yet. Then we go into an MVD concerning PETA, and a guy that killed his wife over a PS3?. We had an ROD scheduled but the train wheels fall completely off this one before we get to it. I was 4 Martinis deep and trying to figure out an echo issue which causes Matt to send a show ending text! Nothing was topping the end of this one. Enjoy the progress of my buzz, and enjoy the ending to this one.

So here it is, our last podcast of 2008, and nothing would be more fitting than to end the year with our Game of the Year edition. Oh yeah, there is something better, no Matt, and no Bryan, Which, if you were wondering is the reason for the “44.5″ show, only half the show was there, no bit in that title. We cover a couple top 10 games of the year lists, which always suck, and our phones ring off the hook with our fans’ picks. We also discuss some upcoming games of 2009. We wrap up the year with some outstanding audio we’ve been teasing for 2 months that is not to be missed. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah….
